Signs for your business

Channel letters for retail stores

In a shopping center, your sign sits in a row of other storefronts. Your name has to read from the road and the parking lot, and still look like your brand up close.

Which lighting style to choose

For most stores in a strip or shopping center, one style does the job best.

Front-lit channel letters

Front-lit letters glow across the whole face, so your name is easy to read from a moving car and from the far end of the parking lot. The acrylic faces can match your brand color, and by day the letters still read as solid shapes on the wall. If your store depends on people driving by, this is the practical choice.

Other options

A boutique on a walkable street may prefer halo-lit: solid steel faces and a glow on the wall, more upscale but harder to read from far away. Open-face neon suits a store with a retro or playful brand, and works well as a second sign inside.

Planning your sign

General advice. Your drawing shows the exact sizes for your own wall.

Measure from the road

Drivers see a strip-center store from the road or the parking lot entrance. Measure from there, not from the sidewalk; the size guide turns that distance into a letter height.

Leave space at both ends

Letters usually look best filling part of the fascia, not all of it. Send the storefront width and a straight-on photo; your drawing shows the letter sizes against that width.

Logo mark and name

If your logo has a symbol next to the name, the symbol can be built as its own lit shape beside the letters. Send the full logo and the drawing shows them together.

Day and night

By day, people see the color of the faces and the steel; at night, only the light. Check the lit preview on your drawing as carefully as the daytime view.

Questions from store owners

My landlord has sign criteria. Can you follow them?

Yes. Send the criteria with your quote request. We size the letters and choose colors to fit them, and you can send the drawing to your landlord for approval before you pay.

Do I need a permit?

Sign rules differ from city to city, so check with your city and your landlord before you order. Once your drawing is ready, you can send it to them.

Can the letters be in our brand color?

Send us your brand colors. We choose the front-lit face color and the finish of the steel sides with you. Your drawing includes a lit preview, so you see the colors before you pay.

We are on a corner. Can we get two signs?

Yes. Set "How many signs" to 2 on the quote form and send a photo of each wall. Each sign is sized for its own wall.
