Signs for your business

Channel letters for gyms and fitness studios

Members come before sunrise and after work, so your sign is often seen in the dark. Outside it has to read from the road; inside it sets the tone of the room.

Which lighting style to choose

Outside and inside are two very different jobs.

Front-lit letters on white background

Best fit

Front-lit channel letters

Gyms are often in large units set back from the road. Front-lit letters glow across the whole face, so your name reads from the road at 5 a.m. and at 9 p.m.

Open-face neon letters on white background

Also a good fit

Open-face neon channel letters

On the training floor or behind the front desk, open-face neon brings energy: a line of LED neon inside each polished steel stroke. It suits a short slogan, your logo or a class name.

Other options

Halo-lit suits a boutique studio, such as yoga, pilates or private training, that wants a calmer, more upscale entrance.

Planning your sign

General advice. Your drawing shows the exact sizes for your own wall.

Wide buildings, far roads

Measure from the road or the parking lot entrance to your wall. On a big building it is tempting to fill the wall, but letter height should follow that distance instead.

Keep slogans short

A few words on the training floor read from across the room. Long quotes end up in small letters that nobody can read mid-set.

Bold fonts read farther

Thin or condensed fonts lose detail at a distance. If your logo is thin, the outside sign may need to be taller than you expect; the drawing shows the size.

Match your brand

Send your logo file and brand colors. We choose the face or neon color with you, and you see it on your drawing before you pay.

Questions from gym owners

Can we put a slogan on the wall?

Yes. Send the exact words and the font. Your drawing shows the layout and size on the wall width you give us.

Where should the inside sign go?

Above head height and above the equipment: racks, rigs and wall-ball targets. The wall behind the front desk or facing the entrance is seen by every member on the way in.

Can the neon match our brand color?

Put your brand color in the notes on the quote form. We confirm the neon color with you, and your drawing shows it before you pay.

We are open 24 hours. Can the sign stay lit all night?

Tell us your hours when you request a quote, and ask us about running the sign all night. A timer can switch it off in daylight, when the light matters least.
