Signs for your business

Channel letters for hotels

Guests often arrive late, tired and in a town they do not know. Your name has to be easy to find from the road, and the entrance and lobby should look as good as the rooms.

Which lighting style to choose

A hotel usually needs more than one sign, and each spot calls for a different light.

Halo-lit letters on white background

Best fit

Halo-lit channel letters

For the entrance, the drop-off canopy and the lobby, halo-lit gives the upscale look: solid steel letters in your colors, with a soft glow on the wall at night. It also suits a hotel restaurant or bar with its own name.

Front-lit letters on white background

Also a good fit

Front-lit channel letters

Where the name has to be read from the road or the highway exit, front-lit is easier to read: the whole face glows. Keep the wording to the hotel name and choose a face color that stays clear at night.

Other options

Open-face neon can work inside a rooftop bar, a lounge or a boutique hotel with a playful brand.

Planning your sign

General advice. Your drawing shows the exact sizes for your own wall.

List every spot first

Road-facing name, entrance, lobby wall, restaurant, bar: list the walls you want lettered and send them in one quote request, so sizes and colors are planned together.

Brand standards

If your hotel belongs to a brand, its sign standards may set fonts, colors and lighting. Send them with your request, along with the artwork files.

High on the building

Letters high on a wall are seen from farther away and at a steeper angle, so they need to be taller and simpler. Send a photo taken from the road.

The lobby wall

Measure from the front doors to the wall behind the desk. That distance, and whatever else is on the wall, decides the size of the lobby sign.

Questions from hotels

We have brand sign standards. Can you build to them?

Send the standards and the artwork files. Your drawing follows them, so you and the brand can review it before anything is built.

Can you make signs for the restaurant and bar too?

Yes. Each can have its own name and lighting style. Set "How many signs" on the quote form and describe each one in the notes.

How are large letters installed high on a building?

Every letter mounts flush to the wall, with a paper template to mark the holes. High walls usually need a local sign installer with a lift. Have a licensed electrician make the power connection.

We are changing brands. How soon can new letters be ready?

Production time is confirmed with your quote, and production starts after you approve the drawing. Send the new artwork and photos of the current signs early, so the drawing is approved well before your changeover date.
