Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, ask us for a drawing or a quote, buy from us or write a review, how we use it, and the choices you have. "We" and "us" mean the business that runs this website.

Information you give us

When you ask for a free drawing or a quote, send a trade request or use our contact form, we collect what you enter and upload:

  • Your name and, if you give it, your business name
  • Your email address and, if you give it, your phone number
  • The ZIP code you want the sign shipped to and the date you need it by
  • Details about your sign, such as the text, the lighting, the sizes, the wall, the mounting and your notes
  • Files you upload, such as your logo and photos of your wall or of an old sign

If you email us, we keep the email and anything attached to it.

When you order

Your cart stays in your browser until you check out (see "Cookies and browser storage" below).

Payment runs on a secure page hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. There you enter your email address, your name, a shipping address in the United States and your payment details. Stripe passes us what we need to fill your order: your name, email address, shipping address and, if you give it, your phone number.

If you use a discount code that is limited to one use per customer, we also keep the email address you enter with it.

For a sign we make for you, we keep the drawing we send you, the changes you ask for and your approval.

We keep a record of each order: what you bought, the price, any discount, the shipping, the tracking number and the payment status.

Reviews

After an order, we may email you a link to review it. If you send a review, we collect your rating, your review, the name, business and city you give, your email address if you enter it, and any photos you add.

We publish your review, with the name, business and city you gave, only if you tick the box that allows it, and your photos only if you allow that too. We never publish your email address. To change or remove a published review, contact us.

Information collected automatically

When you send a form, we record the date and time, the language of the page you used, the country your request came from (as reported by our hosting provider) and your browser type. We use this to sort requests and to filter out spam.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver this website and protect it from abuse.

Where your visit came from

To learn which links and ads bring people here, this website notes where your visit started:

  • The campaign tags in the address you arrived on (UTM parameters: utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign)
  • The site and page that sent you here (the referring site)
  • The first page you opened on this website (the landing page)

This information is kept in your browser, not on our servers, until you check out or send a form. It is then sent along with your order or request and stored with it. We use it to see which links and ads work. We do not use it to follow you on other websites.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see how people use this website: which pages they open, how far down a page they read, which buttons they click (for example, to ask for a drawing or to play a video) and whether they send a request or place an order. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that sent you here.

We do not send Google your name, email address, phone number, files or what you write in our forms, and we remove private links, such as payment links, from the page addresses it receives. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this information is not used to show you ads.

Google handles this information under its own privacy policy. To stop Google Analytics from counting your visits, block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

How we use your information

  • To prepare your drawing, your lit preview and your price, and to answer your questions
  • To build your sign to the drawing you approve, and to ship it
  • To email you about your request, your order and its shipping
  • To handle damage claims, warranty claims, returns and refunds
  • To ask for a review after your order, and to publish the reviews you allow us to publish
  • To see which pages, links and ads bring visitors, and to make this website easier to use
  • To protect the site and our customers from fraud, spam and abuse
  • To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not send marketing emails. We email you only about your request and your order and, after your order, to ask for a review.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe, not to us: we never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us whether a payment went through, with limited details such as the amount, the type of card and its last four digits, and handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

If you pay with another method that Stripe offers, such as a digital wallet, that payment is handled by Stripe and the provider of that method.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share it only as needed to run our business:

  • With service providers that work for us: Cloudflare (hosting this website, storing requests, orders, files and reviews, and sending our emails), Stripe (payments), Google (visit statistics, as described above) and our email provider (the mailbox where we receive and answer your emails)
  • With the workshop that builds your sign: your drawing, your files and the details of your sign, but not your payment details
  • With the shipping carrier that delivers your order: your name, your shipping address and, where the carrier needs it, your phone number
  • When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or those of others
  • As part of a merger, sale or transfer of all or part of our business

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use advertising cookies, and the shop does not need cookies to work. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID), which last up to 2 years, to tell one visit from the next.

A few things are kept in your browser's own storage, on your device:

  • Your cart: the products, options and quantities you added, so they are still there when you come back
  • A discount code you entered, and the email address you typed with it
  • Where your visit came from, as described above: for orders, for up to 30 days; for forms, until you close the tab
  • After you send a form, a short summary of it, so the thank-you page can show it back to you (until you close the tab)
  • A note that a request or an order was already counted in our statistics, so reloading the page does not count it twice (until you close the tab)

You can clear cookies and this storage at any time in your browser settings. If your browser blocks storage, the site still works, but your cart lasts only while the page is open.

The payment page is run by Stripe, which may use its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for it, so this website does not respond to it. To limit what is collected, block cookies or use the opt-out add-on described above.

How long we keep information

We keep requests, orders, drawings, uploaded files, reviews and emails for as long as we need them to make and ship your sign, honor our warranty and support you, and for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below). We may keep what we need to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, honor a warranty, enforce our terms or meet legal requirements.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, using the contact details at the end of this page. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request.

Depending on the state where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under state law. We honor them as the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

Security

This website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We take reasonable administrative and technical steps to protect your information, but no method of sending or storing data is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it as quickly as possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top.
